The Centre for Obesity Management and
Surgery (COMS) in the National University Hospital takes pride in its holistic
management of the patients under its care.
Our multidisciplinary
team, consisting of dietitians, physiotherapists, psychologists, endocrinologists,
hepatologists and surgeons, adopts a holistic approach in the management of obesity
for both adults and adolescents. The patients under our care can range from a
diverse spectrum of pure obesity, or obesity complicated by obstructive sleep
apnoea, joint pains or metabolic diseases (e.g. diabetes, hypertension,
subfertility, fatty liver disease etc.).
Our aim is for
our patients to achieve the health benefits that occur with weight loss in obesity,
as well as to both look and feel good about themselves after treatment. We
build a long-term relationship with our patients to make sure that they have
sustainable results after treatment and to ensure that they return to the
community with continuity of care.
In our centre,
apart from medication and lifestyle adjustments, our team of surgeons are
well-versed in minimally invasive interventions for obesity and offer a wide
range of options for bariatric treatment (both endoscopic and surgery), that
will be tailored to every individual patient.
