"Tomorrow's Medicine Today."

At the Department of Medicine, our commitment is to ensure the best possible care for our patients across our 11 specialties: Advanced Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Neurology, Rheumatology, and Respiratory & Critical Care Medicine.

Our patient-centric approach is driven by our dedication to kindness, safety, value, responsiveness and holistic delivery for optimal outcomes. We employ value-driven outcome initiatives to continuously monitor and enhance key quality outcome indices. Our integrative care programmes extend from hospital to home and community, enabling a smoother transition back to health and normalcy.

The pursuit of clinical care excellence at our department is underpinned by a culture of continuous improvement, with a focus on finding more effective treatments for our patients. Our research efforts concentrate on key areas such as metabolic disease, ageing, infectious disease, stroke, cancer, hepatitis, psychological health, inflammatory-immune interface and health services outcomes. Our clinician researchers lead national research initiatives, addressing healthcare challenges in Singapore and improving patient care.

Training and mentoring are integral to our mission of providing better care. We provide comprehensive training to both undergraduate and postgraduate medical professionals through residency, senior residency, training fellowships and specialised courses. Our objective is to equip them with the competence, compassion and creativity necessary to address Singapore's pressing healthcare challenges.

Our driving force is the provision of the best possible care for our patients, always striving to be one step ahead—making tomorrow's medicine available today.
