Medicine

Tomorrow's Medicine Today.  At the Department of Medicine, we are committed to ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care through our 11 specialties: Advanced Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Neurology, Rheumatology, and Respiratory & Critical Care Medicine.

With the patient at the centre of our focus, we seek to ensure that our care is kind, safe, value-driven, responsive and delivered holistically for the best possible outcome.

Using value-driven outcome initiatives, we continually track and improve on key quality outcome indices. Our integrative care programmes extend beyond the hospital to the home and community, facilitating a smoother return to a healthy and normal life.

Our pursuit of clinical care excellence is supported by our ethos, culture and drive to continually search for better treatment for our patients. Focusing on the key pillars of research excellence in metabolic disease, ageing, infectious disease, stroke, cancer, hepatitis, psychological health, inflammatory-immune interface and health services outcomes, our clinician researchers lead multiple national research efforts to address healthcare challenges in Singapore and bring better care to our patients.

Training and mentoring is integral to our mission of providing better care. Targeted at both undergraduates and postgraduates enrolled in established programmes such as residency, senior residency, training fellowships and specialised courses, we aim to train medical professionals with the competence, compassion and creativity to take on Singapore's pressing healthcare problems.

Our drive? Providing the best care for our patients by keeping ourselves one step ahead – making tomorrow's medicine available today.
