The speech therapy team was first established in ENT in 2005 to provide speech-language intervention and rehabilitation support for hearing impaired patients. For individuals with hearing impairment, the journey does not end with being fitted with hearing devices but when they are able to use them to communicate and thrive in their respective educational and community settings.
Since our humble beginnings, the team has expanded to provide a range of services for our patients in close partnership with families, caregivers, developmental paediatricians as well as community partners (e.g.
teachers).
These include:
- Communication assessment and intervention for the hearing impaired
- Therapy for Auditory Processing Disorder
- Voice and swallowing therapy (adults)
