Our paediatric departments, represented by the Khoo Teck Puat – National University Children’s Medical Institute (KTP-NUCMI), provides comprehensive medical, surgical, diagnostic and rehabilitation services for newborns, children, and adolescents. We are also the only public specialist centre in Singapore that offers paediatric kidney and liver transplant programmes.
Neonatology (Newborn Care)
The Department of Neonatology provides specialist care for premature and medically complex newborns, including antenatal counselling for parents with high-risk pregnancies, attendance at high-risk deliveries, newborn resuscitation, neonatal intensive care, well-baby nursery care (routine care for healthy newborns), and post-discharge follow-up.
Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) specialises in the management of premature and sick newborns and is recognised for caring for the ‘world’s smallest baby’.

Paediatric Surgery
The Department of Paediatric Surgery manages surgical problems in newborns, infants, toddlers, children and teenagers, up to the age of 18 years old. This includes congenital abnormalities, lumps and bumps, and other surgical issues in the digestive tract, hepatobiliary and pancreas, chest and genitourinary tract.
