The Division of Benign Gynaecology has a dedicated team of doctors who provide quality patient care across a wide range of gynaecological issues, including contraception, abnormal menstrual bleeding and vaginal discharge, pelvic pain, abnormal pelvic masses, and menopausal health. We perform a comprehensive range of procedures relating to the routine care of women and a wide spectrum of conditions affecting women.
Our specialised services include Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) for removal of ovaries and uterus (hysterectomy), as well as all procedures related to the female urinary tract under the subspecialty of Urogynaecology. In MIS, we utilise integrated technologies such as robotic surgery, single-port access surgery, and modern energy sources to enhance clinical care and patient outcomes. This approach facilitates faster recovery, reduces pain and lowers wound complication rates.
Our Urogynaecology programme provides complete diagnostic evaluation and informed discussions on various treatment modalities for pelvic floor dysfunction, urinary leakage, bladder pain and other conditions related to the vagina, uterus, bladder, urethra and rectum.

Started in 2014, the IWHP focuses on the key health concerns of midlife women in Singapore, looking at female-specific health issues such as menopause, osteoporosis, anxiety, depression, pre-diabetes, pre-hypertension, urinary incontinence, poor sleep and hip fractures.
With a recruitment of 1,201 women, the IWHP is the largest and most comprehensive longitudinal cohort study of midlife women in Asia. The insights from IWHP will help identify and address the unique healthcare needs of midlife women and help to close the knowledge gap in Singapore and globally.

As a follow-up study from the IWHP, this study aims to develop targeted interventions, including exercise regimes to enhance muscle strength, along with exploring menopausal hormone therapy’s potential in alleviating joint pains and improving overall well-being for women.
