Note:

Classification of Patient Status
Non-subsidised/Private Patient
Patients will receive treatment as private patients if they are:
- Referred to NUH by any government doctor or restructured hospital doctor to a specific doctor (regardless of seniority)
- Referred to NUH by a private doctor or private hospital, with or without reference to a specific doctor
- Discharged from NUH class A or B1 wards
- NUH private patients referred for follow-up treatment at outpatient facilities within NUH, with or without reference to a specific doctor
Subsidised Patient (Applicable to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents only)
Patient referred to NUH by any restructured hospital doctor and patients who are referred from the following government agencies will receive treatment as subsidised patients:
- Polyclinics
- A&E of Restructured Hospitals
- Subsidised outpatients of Restructured Hospitals
- Voluntary welfare organisations under the purview of MOH
- GPs under the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS)
Subsidised patients discharged from NUH class B2 and C wards for follow-up treatment at outpatient facilities within NUH will continue to benefit from subsidised rates.
As a subsidised patient, you will be cared for by a dedicated team of doctors who work closely together to support your health needs. As part of this team-based approach, your doctor will be assigned by the care team based on clinical requirements. You may see different doctors during your visits.
We understand that some patients may have preferences for a doctor of a specific gender due to personal or religious reasons. While we respect these considerations, we are unable to accommodate such requests. Please be assured that every patient receives care that is consistent, safe, and delivered to the same high standards.
