Music Programmes
Music has always been comforting to many people and makes our patients feel relaxed or happy. Share your music with our patients, caregivers and visitors if you play a musical instrument e.g. piano, flute or sing.
The volunteers team works with numerous music groups, including schools and musicians from overseas to bring music into our hospital community. Anglo-Chinese Junior College and Hwa Chong Institution (College) performed music for our geriatric inpatients, as well as engage them in simple interactive activities using music as a medium. In July 2025, Gyulbit Women's Choir from Jeju Island held a special performance showcasing their melodious voices at Medical Centre.
Sing-Me-A-Story
Our community partner, Sing'theatre brings cheer and smile to our paediatric patients every fortnight. Characters dressed in princesses' and superhero's costumes will sing and act, delighting our young patients.
Ensemble Kanon
Comprising musicians who come from Japan, the trio met in Singapore and have been passionate about sharing their music monthly in the hospital since September 2023.
Playing the piano, clarinet and flute, they perform monthly from 11.00am to 11.30am and 12.00pm to 12.30pm at Medical Centre, level 3 (near the Pharmacy), enchanting the audience with their beautiful music renditions.
Silver Sing-along
A ground-up initiative founded by a group of seniors who play the piano and sing to a repertoire of oldies and classics in different languages, eg. English, Mandarin, Chinese dialects, Spanish and Japanese. They perform once a month during lunchtime at Medical Centre, bringing joy and smiles to many.
Ad-hoc Programmes
We welcome individuals and groups keen to organise ad-hoc activities (e.g. festive visits, art and craft or learn a new skill) for our patients. Share your proposal here.
One of our regular partners - Project KRaft from the Rotaract Club of National University of Singapore (NUS) organised several art and craft sessions yearly for our inpatients to celebrate occasions such as Chinese New Year, Valentine's Day, International Women's Day and Deepavali. With their creative ideas, these volunteers keep our patients occupied with meaningful activities such as tote bag painting, paper flower, flashlight art and 3D card.
