The National University Spine Institute (NUSI) is a dedicated spine specialist institute within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery under the National University Health System (NUHS) and is the culmination of the evolution of spine care in the 70-year history of orthopaedic surgery in Singapore.

NUSI provides holistic and multidisciplinary care for patients with spinal diseases and deformities across the hospitals in the NUHS Health Cluster, namely and at present, the National University Hospital (NUH), Alexandra Hospital (AH) and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH).

Our Dedicated Team

Our team comprises highly qualified healthcare professionals from across a range of specialties including Orthopaedic Spine Surgery, Neurosurgery and Rehabilitation Medicine and who offer the full spectrum of care, from conservative care (including pain management, rehabilitative medicine, acupuncture and physiotherapy) to cutting edge surgical treatment including the latest in minimally invasive, navigated and robot-assisted spine surgery, endoscopic spine surgery as well as complex surgical techniques for the treatment of scoliosis, spinal tumours, degenerative spine disorders, spinal deformities and spinal trauma.

Our Conservative Approach to Spine Care

While we offer a full and growing suite of the very latest surgical techniques, we are also committed to helping our patients avoid unnecessary surgical procedures and offer a variety of therapies to address pain, prevent further damage and help our patients regain mobility – all without the need for surgery.

Our Commitment to Singaporeans

1st NUSI Public Symposium (Mar 2024)

NUSI aims to promote and provide a high standard of excellence in spine health and education. To this end, we are committed to engaging, through various innovative programs, the community under our care in Singapore.

Our Global Reach

Our regional and international reputation is without question and many of our surgeons are recognised globally as experts in their fields and in relevant research. This has, consequently resulted in many international patients travelling to our Institute to be treated for their spinal problems.
