The Department of Surgery offers a comprehensive spectrum of clinical services for a wide range of surgical conditions, to meet the diverse and evolving needs of both inpatient and outpatient services.

Our team brings together a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals, state-of-the-art technology, and evidence-based practises to deliver holistic and comprehensive care — starting from our patients’ first appointment to their discharge.

NUH provide care programmes, namely the MILES and ERAS programmes, designed for patients undergoing major surgery. These programmes are holistic and tailored to provide multidisciplinary care throughout the patient's surgical experience

Our dedicated consultants, with a strong passion for teaching and engagement, impart practical skills and knowledge through demonstrations, lectures, tutorial and the day-to-day management of patients in wards, clinics and operating theatres.

FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME

Since 2010, we have trained over 60 Clinical Fellows from all over the world. These programmes are catered for medical professionals seeking to advance their training in surgical practices, offering opportunities to train, hands-on experience and exposure in the various specialities. At the end of the fellowship, you will be equipped with valuable knowledge and enhanced skills and be well-prepared to kickstart your journey as a surgeon.
