PaedsENGAGE (ENGagement And GP Empowerment)

PaedsENGAGE, a collaborative initiative led by NUH and KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH), partners with general practitioners (GPs) in the private sector. This programme focuses on right-siting of care for children with mild to moderate paediatric conditions across Singapore.
For non-urgent conditions, it is advisable to consult a PaedsENGAGE GP first. This approach enables our Children's Emergency team to focus on patients with critical and life-threatening conditions.
GPs participating in PaedsENGAGE undergo a comprehensive educational training programme, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage common paediatric conditions, including:
- Fever
- Breathlessness
- Vomiting
- Diarrhoea
- Rash
- Simple injuries
An e-brochure with more information is available for download here.
A list of participating clinics can be found here. These clinics are identifiable by the PaedsENGAGE decal displayed at their premises.

Reduced Fee At KKH And NUH's Children's Emergency
In cases assessed as emergencies, a referral to the Children's Emergency will include a $50 subsidy on the prevailing Children's Emergency fees. Please ensure to visit within 12 hours of the referral, presenting the original hardcopy referral form.

1. Patient referrals must be made using the original, serialised PaedsENGAGE Referral Form from NUH or KKH.
2. The Referral Form must be completed with the participating clinic’s stamp, date and time, and the patient must present this form at the Children’s Emergency along with their birth certificate for verification.
3. Parents or guardians are responsible for bringing the patient and the original referral form to the Children's Emergency within 12 hours from the time of referral.
4. A $50 subsidy on the prevailing charges at the Children’s Emergency is available when referred by participating GPs.
5. Charges for specialised investigations and/or medications such as sedation at Children’s Emergency are separate and additional.
