Founded in 1987 as a joint venture with Swedish company Medlux AB, NRL began its journey as Medlux Laboratories Pte Ltd. In 1991, it transitioned into a fully owned subsidiary of the National University Hospital (NUH) and was rebranded as NUH Referral Laboratories (NRL).
At NRL, we believe that quality patient care is built upon accurate, timely laboratory results. Our mission is to provide our partners and clients with dependable, clinically relevant laboratory medicine and pathology testing services. As the outreach arm of NUH’s Department of Laboratory Medicine (DLM) and Department of Pathology (DoP), NRL offers comprehensive testing support to a broad network of external clients, including local and international medical institutions, private laboratories, and overseas partners.
Our dedicated client service team is trained to provide seamless support, addressing inquiries about available tests, service hours, collection supplies, specimen handling, and transportation conditions. By coordinating closely with DLM and DoP’s schedules, we ensure test results are promptly delivered to our clients as soon as they are completed. NRL is committed to the highest standards in laboratory services, empowering healthcare providers with accurate results to support patient care.
