As an important source of funding for our beneficiaries over the years, the NUH Children's Fund has funded items such as:

• Medical equipment (e.g. renal dialysis equipment, oxygen concentrators, home ventilator machines, feeding pumps).
• Consumables (e.g. catheters, feeding tubes, test strips).
• Diagnostic tests (e.g. X-Rays, blood tests).
• Treatment costs such as medication, rehabilitation, and outpatient subsidised consultation fees.

Beneficiaries include:

• Matthew*, aged seven, lives with intellectual disability, epilepsy and a decline in his lung function. As the youngest of three siblings in a low-income household, Matthew relies on nasogastric tube feeding. Generous donor support has enabled the purchase of a home ventilation machine, allowing Matthew to receive proper care at home
• Sarah*, aged eight, faces a chronic bladder problem known as neurogenic bladder, requiring regular follow-ups and treatment. To prevent kidney infections and maintain kidney function, Sarah undergoes Clean Intermittent Catheterisation (CIC) multiple times daily. With her father as the family’s sole earner, and her mother having left her job to provide full-time care, they have downsized their living situation due to financial constraints. Thanks to donor contributions, Sarah has access to the necessary consumables for her CIC.
• Colin*, an 18-year-old with epilepsy, intellectual disability and malnutrition, comes from a family facing significant health challenges. His parents, both in their fifties, cope with chronic conditions that require frequent medical appointments. With Colin’s father being laid off in 2023 and currently earning a modest income as a kitchen helper, the financial strain is considerable. Colin’s high care demands prevent his mother from working. Donor assistance has been instrumental in securing essential nutritional supplies, such as milk feeds costing $140 monthly, vital for Colin’s health.

Decisions on financial aid allocations are made by a committee comprising doctors, nurses and medical social workers.

Your contributions are vital, offering essential support to young patients requiring financial assistance, significantly helping them on the road to recovery.

Ways to donate:

1. Cheque Donations

   • Please make cheques payable to 'NUHS Fund', indicating "NUH Children's Fund" on the back.
   • Mail cheques with a completed “Gift Form” available here.
   • A Tax-Deductible Receipt (TDR) or Non-Tax-Deductible Receipt (Non-TDR) will be emailed/mailed to you.

2. Online Donation via Giving.sg

   • Make an online donation here using credit/debit card (MasterCard, Visa) or internet banking.
   • Individual donors do not need to separately claim tax deductions for donations in the income tax forms if NRIC No. or FIN No. are filled out at the point of donation. Your donation details will be sent directly to the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS), and the donation deductions will be included automatically in your tax assessment.

3. Monthly Giving via Giro

   • Complete the “Giro Form” available here and mail it with the "Gift Form” available here.
   • A yearly TDR summary will be mailed to in December.

4. Standing Instructions

   This allows you to set up a regular donation to NUH Children's Fund (e.g. weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly etc).

   Setting up Standing Instructions through internet banking:

   Bank charges may apply.

   • Please refer to the “Steps for Standing Instructions” available here.
   • Please also fill out the “Gift Form” available here.
   • Email a scanned copy of the Gift form to [email protected]
   • A yearly TDR summary will be mailed to in December.

   Setting up Standing Instructions by post:

   There is a service charge of $10 levied by the bank. All subsequent donations will not be charged.

   • Complete the “Standing Instruction Form” available here and mail it with the completed “Gift Form” available here.
   • A yearly TDR summary will be mailed to in December.

Donations of $10 and above are eligible for IRAS tax deduction of 2.5 times the donated amount. Should the tax deduction for your gift be more than your income for the year, the deduction will be carried forward over five years.

Monetary donations of S$10,000 and above will be acknowledged on our Donor Board at NUH with donor consent.
