Our Care Team

Providing comprehensive patient care, our nurses' key responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, assisting doctors with procedures and administering medications. These core functions ensure patients receive thorough evaluations, support during medical interventions and proper treatment. Additionally, our nurses lead specialised initiatives, including nurse-led eye injections, demonstrating their expertise and expanding their role in patient care. They play a vital role in maintaining high standards of care in our ophthalmology setting, contributing significantly to patient outcomes and healthcare delivery through both their supporting roles and nurse-led services.

Led by Ms Jacqueline Liew, our comprehensive allied health team comprises three specialised groups working together to deliver exceptional patient care.

As the first line of defence in eye care, our optometrists support the doctors by providing services such as refraction tests and spectacles prescription, cataract and refractive surgery assessments, low vision rehabilitation and contact lens fitting. They also work closely with the doctors to provide care for patients with stable eye conditions.

Community-Based Primary Care

Our community-based primary eye care services are delivered through polyclinics, with dedicated optometrists providing comprehensive eye examinations and preventive care in our Community Eye Clinics.

Cataract and Refractive Surgery

Our experienced optometrists provide complete pre- and post-surgical work-up and care, ensuring seamless support from initial assessment through recovery and follow-up for cataract and refractive surgery patients.

Therapeutic Contact Lenses

Our specialist team co-manages corneal conditions using specialty contact lenses, providing advanced therapeutic interventions for complex eye conditions.

Paediatrics and Myopia Management

Dedicated optometrists co-manage myopia in children, offering specialised paediatric eye care focused on controlling childhood myopia progression.

Low Vision and Vision Rehabilitation

Our rehabilitation services provide assessment, management and rehabilitation for patients with visual impairment and those recovering from ophthalmic trauma.

Ocular Prosthesis

We offer unique functional and aesthetic rehabilitation services for patients following ophthalmic cancers and trauma through custom ocular prosthetic fitting.

Ophthalmic Diagnostics & Imaging

Our diagnostic specialists perform sophisticated clinical and imaging investigations to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

Diabetic Retinopathy

Our dedicated team provides comprehensive imaging and grading of diabetic retinopathy to prevent vision loss through early detection and monitoring.

Our Orthoptists specialise in the assessment and non-surgical management of eye movement disorders, binocular vision disorders and abnormal visual function. They work with patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly. They collaborate and co-manage patients who have stable strabismus and/or visual field defects, and children with amblyopia, alongside our neuro-ophthalmologists and paediatric ophthalmologists.

They conduct orthoptic assessments for paediatric and adult patients with eye misalignment (squint/ strabismus), abnormal eye movement and eye coordination. They assess patients' vision (especially in infants, children, and non-verbal patients), contrast sensitivity, colour vision and visual field. They collaborate and co-manage patients with our neuro-ophthalmologists and paediatric ophthalmologists for patient with stable strabismus and/or visual field defects, and children with amblyopia. They offer non-surgical management options using orthoptic treatment, such as eye patches to treat amblyopia, orthoptic exercises to improve misalignment, and prescribe optical aids to help eliminate double vision.

Our team of technicians operate a variety of diagnostic equipment to perform clinical investigations. The test results help our ophthalmologists assess patients' conditions and determine the best course of treatment. Our skilled technicians provide essential diagnostic support across all areas of ophthalmology, ensuring accurate and timely clinical investigations that form the foundation of effective patient care.

The team works closely with the clinical staff to provide the best possible patient care and service. To maintain high efficiency and quality, we constantly strive to optimise the department's operations by managing and overseeing budgets, planning workflows and monitoring facilities and eqiupment maintainance.

Our ancillary team provides frontline support by ensuring the clinic's cleanliness and readiness to receive patients, offering financial counselling services, assisting physicians during consultations, and managing patients' appointments and enquiries.
