Dr Serene Goh graduated from National University of Singapore and obtained her Masters of Medicine (Surgery) and Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh during her training years. Following which she attained the Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and was accredited as a Specialist in the General Surgery by the Specialist Accreditation Board in 2022. She has also successfully completed the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE).

Dr Serene Goh’s subspecialty interest in breast surgery and oncoplastics is driven by a deep desire to improve the lives of breast cancer patients. Through meticulous surgical techniques, she strives to achieve not only successful cancer treatment but also aesthetically pleasing outcomes that restore her patients' confidence and quality of life. She believes in empowering her patients to make informed choices about their treatment journey and ensures the treatment plan aligns with each patient's unique needs.

Her pursuit for excellence extends beyond the operating room. Dr. Serene Goh is actively involved in breast cancer research, contributing significantly to advancing the understanding and treatment of the disease. She was recently awarded the NUH Clinician Scientist Program Grant to further her research. Her dedication to research has led to numerous awards at international conferences and publications in reputable medical journals. She also stays current with technology and innovation trends and embraces their use in clinical care wisely. She recently co-developed a surgical device with NUS to improve and refine the process of breast conserving surgeries. Dr Serene Goh is also a recipient of consecutive teaching awards from National University Singapore from 2017 to 2021 for her exceptional contributions to medical education.
