Dr Poon is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Anaesthesia, National University Hospital (NUH). He completed a one year Pain Fellowship in Oxford Pain Relief Unit and St Thomas’ Hospital, London, in 2005. He has been involved in the care of acute, chronic and cancer pain patients in NUH for over 10 years. His clinical interests include the use of pharmacological, non pharmacological and interventional techniques in a multidisciplinary setting for the management of pain. He has been invited to talk on pain topics in local and regional meetings. He has also been involved in organising meetings and conferences in the field of Pain Medicine.

Dr Poon is currently Associate Chairman Medical Board for Quality & Patient Safety in NUH. He gives lectures and conducts patient safety workshops for both doctors and nurses.
