Dr Poon is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Anaesthesia, National University Health System (NUHS). He completed a one-year Pain Fellowship in Oxford Pain Relief Unit and St Thomas’ Hospital, London, in 2005. He has been involved in the care of acute, chronic and cancer pain patients in NUHS for over 10 years. His clinical interests include the use of pharmacological, non-pharmacological and interventional techniques in a multidisciplinary setting for the management of pain.

Dr Poon is currently Associate Chairman Medical Board for Quality & Patient Safety in NUHS. He is also a Clinician Educator for Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Besides undergraduate teaching, he is also involved in postgraduate examination for the Master of Medicine (Anaesthesia).
