Biosketch

Dr Poon is a Consultant Anaesthetist in the Department of Anaesthesia, National University Hospital (NUH). He completed a one-year Pain Fellowship in Oxford Pain Relief Unit and St Thomas’ Hospital, London, in 2005. He has been involved in the care of acute, chronic and cancer pain patients in NUHS for over 10 years. His clinical interests include the use of pharmacological, non-pharmacological and interventional techniques in a multidisciplinary setting for the management of pain.

Dr Poon is currently the department's Director of Clinical Services. He is also a Clinician Educator for Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Besides undergraduate teaching, he is involved in postgraduate examination for the Master of Medicine (Anaesthesia).
