Dr Luke Hong is Senior Resident Physician with the Department of Psychological Medicine at the National University Hospital. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and Obstetrics from University College Cork, National University of Ireland.
Dr Hong joined the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Psychiatry Residency Programme and rotated through various general hospitals including the Institute of Mental Health. In 2015, he was conferred a Membership in the Royal College of Psychiatrists from the United Kingdom.
Dr Hong was practicing as a Resident Physician at a local General Practice Clinic for 2 years before returning to Psychiatry practice during the COVID Pandemic.
Dr Hong has a special interest in outpatient psychiatry and in the hospital, Dr Hong has been running Psychiatry Outpatient clinics in both Alexandra Hospital and the National University Hospital for 4 years. He also does Consultation Liaison Psychiatry.
Dr Hong has a special interest in Geriatric Psychiatry and is passionate in serving the population of Singaporeans who helped shape Singapore to where it is today and to care for their mental health needs. He is also passionate in managing patient with schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders and has worked with the long stay psychiatric nursing homes taking care of the mental health needs of the patients there.
Apart from his clinical interest, Dr Hong is also an avid cinephile and tennis enthusiast and strongly believes in the ‘healthy body, healthy mind’ mantra.
