Joseph Ng is the Immediate Pasts President of the Asian Society for
Gynaecologic Robotic Surgery, a pan-Asian society of gynaecologic surgeons who
deliver care across the spectrum of gynaecological surgical care. He is also
the Immediate Past President of the Robotic Surgery Society of Singapore.
He also has interests in global health and is the Vice-Chairman of the
Training and Mentorship Committee of the International Gynecological Cancer
Society which is a global organization of more than 3,000 women’s cancer
professionals committed to ending women’s cancer.
Dr Ng is a Senior Consultant
with the Division of Gynaecologic Oncology at the National University Cancer
Institute, Singapore (NCIS).
He is also an Assistant
Professor with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Yong Loo Lin
School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS).
He is Chairman of Robotic
Surgery at the National University Hospital and is also the founding and
current chairman of the GRACES programme, the Gynaecologic Robot Assisted
Cancer & Endoscopic Surgery programme at the National University Hospital.
His key interests at
present are the zero-impact treatment of endometrial cancer where women with
endometrial cancer can have surgical treatment with minimal loss of function.
He also introduced the same day surgery programme for endometrial cancer where
women can have endometrial cancer surgery without the need for hospital stay.
