Biosketch

Dr Gene Chan is a Senior Consultant in the NUH Emergency Medicine Department with a special interest in Point of Care Ultrasound and Emergency Airway management. She completed a year long Ultrasound Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital New York in 2012 and has been actively teaching ultrasound skills to residents and medical students. 

She is also involved in teaching and curriculum planning for undergraduate education at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. She completed the Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE), Maastricht in 2020. 

Dr Chan is keen in collaborations that seek to improve the teaching and learning experience for medical students and residents.

  • NUS Medicine Fortitude Award for contributions beyond the call of duty towards education of medical students during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic
