All newly-qualified allied health professionals begin their practice under the close mentorship of experienced allied health professionals . These preceptorships involve a variety of learning platforms including tutorials, case studies, simulation labs, and on-the-job coaching. Staff may also qualify for the NUH Learning Development Awards for professional certification and formal academic programmes, as well as individual or team skills attachments. Clinical educators and clinical researchers will benefit from practicing communities who seek out opportunities and encourage one another to advance their knowledge and skill competencies in their chosen career tracks.
As a learning organisation, we celebrate all developmental milestones and achievements with one another. Leadership development occurs through stretch assignments in both clinical and non-clinical areas, as well as formal programmes, with the aim of developing well-rounded and compassionate allied health leaders who will thrive in Singapore’s demanding public health landscape.
