Dr. Zhang Ka is a board-certified neurologist and Consultant in the Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine, at National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore. He has special interests in primary headache disorders and dementia.
Dr. Zhang underwent his medical education at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China, and obtained his MBBS degree in 2011 and MD degree in 2013. He subsequently earned his Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) from the National University of Singapore in 2020, and became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2019. In 2023, he attained specialist accreditation in Neurology from the Singapore Specialists Accreditation Board. His postgraduate training was conducted entirely at the National University Health System (NUHS), Singapore. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine from 2017 to 2020, followed by senior residency in Neurology from 2020 to 2023. He previously held the position of Chief Resident for the Neurology Residency Programme (2022–2023).
In his current role, Dr. Zhang manages a wide spectrum of neurological conditions with a subspecialty focus on complex headache disorders. He is actively involved in procedural headache management. He is a core member of the multidisciplinary headache team. Dr. Zhang has held education roles within NUH. He currently serves as a core faculty member of the Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY1) Internal Medicine programme and is involved in undergraduate medical student education.
