Dr Yip Pui Lam is an Associate Consultant in Radiation Oncology at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS), with a particular clinical interest in head and neck cancers and nasopharyngeal carcinoma. She is committed to delivering evidence-based cancer treatment that is tailored to each patient's individual needs.
Dr Yip trained and practised in Hong Kong, where she completed her specialist training in Clinical Oncology. She graduated with Honours in Medicine from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2014 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with First-Class Honours. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (UK), the Hong Kong College of Radiologists and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. She was awarded the Frank Doyle Medal and Gold Award by the Royal College of Radiologists.
Her clinical interests include the use of radiotherapy in the multidisciplinary management of cancer, with a focus on treatment optimisation and balancing cancer control with treatment-related toxicity. Her background in psychology has also shaped her approach to understanding patients’ individual needs and tailoring radiotherapy accordingly.
Dr Yip is actively involved in clinical research. Her research spans several areas of oncology, including head and neck cancer, breast cancer and stereotactic radiotherapy. Her work focuses on treatment optimisation, individualised treatment strategies and reducing treatment-related toxicity. She is a committee member of the Head and Neck Cancer International Group, where she collaborates with clinicians and researchers internationally on research in head and neck cancer.
Her emerging interests include the use of digital technologies to develop patient-specific solutions addressing unmet needs in healthcare, with a focus on accessibility, effectiveness and patient-centred care.
She is also a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the National University of Singapore and is involved in teaching at the Singapore Institute of Technology.
