Biosketch
                        Dr Tong Weihan is an associate consultant ophthalmologist at National University Hospital (NUH) and Alexandra Hospital (AH), and a Clinical Lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He specialises in comprehensive eye care with particular expertise in cataract and glaucoma management. He routinely performs cataract surgeries, utilising various intraocular lenses to restore and enhance patients' vision.
Dr Tong earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics (Honours) from the National University of Ireland before returning to Singapore to complete his ophthalmology specialist training through the prestigious residency programme at NUH. He holds a Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology from the NUS and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK). His exceptional leadership during training was recognised when he served as Chief Resident from 2023 to 2024.
As an active researcher, Dr Tong has contributed to the field through his published work on micropulse cyclophototherapy for open-angle and uveitic glaucoma, alongside research in corneal infections and advanced ocular imaging techniques. His commitment to medical education is evident through his teaching of medical students, optometrists and fellow clinicians.
Dr Tong demonstrates a strong commitment to community service through his volunteer work in local public eye screening programmes and his participation in international humanitarian missions, providing sight-restoring cataract surgery to underserved populations in developing countries.
