Dr. Law graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and completed his General Surgery training at the National University Health System, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. He graduated top of his cohort and was awarded the College of Surgeons Gold Medal in General Surgery. He subsequently obtained his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and was accredited as a specialist in 2023. In addition to being well versed in the management of benign hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases such as gallstone disease and pancreatic cysts, he has a keen interest in complex hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery and liver transplantation, and is part of the established HPB and transplant team at the National University Hospital and Alexandra Hospital.
Beyond his dedication to surgical precision and minimally invasive techniques that enhance patient outcomes, Dr. Law is passionate about research that can directly improve patient care. He was awarded the NUHS Clinician Scientist Program Grant (2020), NUHS Junior Seed Fund (2021), and the Ministry of Health Healthcare Research Scholarship (2022), completing his Master of Clinical Investigation at NUS during residency. His research focuses on cancer biology, biomarker-driven prognostication, and the holistic, personalized management of HPB cancers, with particular emphasis on integrating tumor biology into clinical decision-making.
In addition to his clinical and research commitments, Dr. Law is dedicated to education and mentorship of the next generation of medical professionals. He serves as Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Department of Surgery, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Undergraduate Director at Alexandra Hospital’s Department of Surgery, and Core Faculty for junior doctors in the Department of Surgery at National University Hospital.
