Biosketch

Dr. Ga Won Yim is a dedicated gynecologic oncologist with academic and clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology. She obtained her MD, Master’s, and PhD in Medical Science from Yonsei University, Republic of Korea, and completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yonsei University Severance Hospital. Following her fellowship, she held progressive academic and clinical leadership roles at Yonsei University and Seoul National University Hospital. In addition to her academic pursuits, Dr. Yim has been actively involved in global health projects in low and middle-income countries, serving as an expert committee member for Official Development Assistance (ODA) agencies in Korea, with a particular focus on women’s health and digital applications for cervical cancer screening.

She is currently an executive Council member of the Asian Society of Gynecologic Oncology (ASGO) and previously served as Vice-Chair of the Symptom Benefit Committee of the Korean Gynecologic Oncology Group (KGOG), which conducts multicenter clinical trials. Before joining NUH in 2026, she was an Associate Professor and Chair of the Robotic Surgery Center at Dongguk University Medical Center. Dr. Yim’s sub-specialty interests include minimally invasive surgery, including single-port and robotic procedures. Dedicated to patient-centered care, she firmly believes that tailored counseling is essential to achieving optimal clinical outcomes and enhancing patient well-being.
