Dr Hu Huixin is an Otolaryngologist, Clinical Director, Undergraduate Director and Consultant at the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. She graduated from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and has developed a special interest in Laryngology. Dr Hu was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan award to advance her surgical skills and expertise in managing voice and swallowing disorders at the University of Toronto, Canada. Her clinical practice encompasses the management of voice disorders, airway stenosis, transgender and gender-diverse voice care, neurogenic cough, exercise-induced laryngeal obstruction, and adult laryngomalacia as a contributing factor to sleep apnoea.
Dr Hu is actively involved in medical education, teaching both undergraduate medical students and residents. She holds the academic appointment of Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and serves as teaching faculty at regional ENT conferences. Her commitment to advancing the field is demonstrated through her involvement in clinical research and quality improvement audits, with publications in peer-reviewed medical journals including The Laryngoscope and American Journal of Otolaryngology.
