The National University Centre for Trauma aims to raise awareness about injury prevention and management to enhance community safety and improve well-being. We conduct workshops, community talks and public awareness campaigns to help reduce the incidence of accidents and injuries. Through collaborations with local organisations, community partners, schools, we promote safety awareness and accident prevention among different age groups.

National Injury Prevention Conference (NIPC)

The inaugural National Injury Prevention Conference (NIPC) hosted by us and KK Women's and Children's Hospital on 1 April 2025 paves the way for greater collboaration between stakeholders and a unified approach to injury prevention. The conference focused on three key areas—paediatric injury prevention, workplace safety, and road traffic safety—and pooled together resources, data and expertise for a broad, high-level roadmap for injury prevention. We look forward to building a safer Singapore for all!


Safety Awareness and Injury Prevention

A safety awareness talk focusing on road, bus, and escalator safety as well as fall risks due to wet floors, collision at corridors and at the staircase was shared to over 1,600 students at Rulang Primary School on 7 March 2025. 

Your Safety, Our Priority

To cultivate a safer working environment for the migrants workers involved in the hospital's infrastructure projects, a safety workshop was organised for them in collaboration with NUHS Corporate Infrastructure Office. 

Held on 13 November 2024, the attendees picked up essential knowledge to manage workplace injuries and received useful tips on injury prevention and safety awareness. 

 

Safety Awareness and Injury Prevention

Over 200 students at Fairfield Methodist School (Primary) participated in a safety awareness and injury prevention talk by our Children's Emergency physicians on 18 September 2024. They learnt essential tips on road and escalator safety and first aid basics on common injuries.

On 24 July 2024, over 800 students at Fairfield Methodist School (Primary) attended a safety awareness and injury prevention talk. They gained valuable insights about road, water and escalator safety, as well as tips to improve their overall and mental health. 

Sports Injury Prevention

On 13 July 2024, participants at the Bukit Timah Community Club's Sports Fiesta learnt about the importance of proper warm-ups, the use of protective gears, appropriate training, and effective recovery techniques to prevent injuries when doing sports. 

Protect Yourself, Prevent Injuries

To raise awareness about workplace injuries, a workshop was held in collaboration with ItsRainingRaincoats on 30 June 2024 for migrant workers. They gained essential knowledge and skills about spinal cord injury prevention, bleeding control and amputation response. 

Boost Bone Health, Prevent Osteoporosis

A health talk was organised for elderly residents at the Mei Ling Residents' Network on 18 April 2024. They received useful insights about bone health and learned simple seated exercises to strengthen muslces, as well as how to maintain a safe home environment to reduce fall risks.
