Biosketch
Dr Ng Shu Ee graduated from the University of Melbourne and obtained her postgraduate qualifications from the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom. She is currently a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore and the Royal College of Physicians Glasgow.
Her main specialty is in Geriatric Medicine and has special interest in designing new healthcare models for the older adults in Singapore. She pioneered the development of NUHS's Home Care Program in 2013, successfully integrating community-based geriatric services into the mainstream service that we see today. Dr Ng has also led international and local award-winning programs in transitional care, frailty management, and delirium services.
She currently serves as Director of Silver Care and Co-Chairperson of the Frailty Program Workgroup under the Group Chairman Medical Board (GCMB) Office at the National University Health System (NUHS). With this role, she is in charge of redesigning and restructuring seamless healthcare delivery to our older patients in the Western region of Singapore.
Besides these, Dr Ng Shu Ee serves as Assistant Professor at the National University Singapore (NUS) and is involved in the teaching of both undergraduate and postgraduate students at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. Her research spans sarcopenia, cognitive frailty, and geriatric syndromes, with publications in various international medical journals.
She is also a member of the national Geriatric Medicine Residency Advisory Committee and was a core faculty member for the Geriatric Medicine Residency Program in NUHS.
She is fluent in multiple languages including English, Mandarin, Malay, Hokkien and Cantonese. Besides medicine, Dr Ng is also a certified yoga instructor and a textile artist.
