Clinically, the NUH Department of Surgery provides a comprehensive spectrum of services for a wide variety of surgical conditions, with both inpatient and outpatient services. The department is organised into several surgical subspecialties, representing the breadth of our expertise. We are committed to delivering world-class care to each and every patient.
At the NUH Department of Surgery, we not only perform surgery, but also shape the field of surgery through research of new technologies. Exciting research is being conducted in our department. For instance, the department is actively developing and validating the use of mixed reality (MR) technology in medicine. Our aim is to revolutionise medical standards, and develop safer and more effective operative approaches for our patients.
In addition to advances in clinical care and research, a primary focus of our department remains the education of the next generation of academic surgical leaders.
