About Us

The University Dental Cluster and NUH Dental Centre

The University Dental Cluster (UDC) comprises six dental clinics located at NUH and the National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Dentistry (FoD).

Our main clinic, the Dental Centre at NUH, is a fully equipped one-stop facility that provides a comprehensive range of services, with an aim to help patients in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of dental and oral diseases. Services from the Dental Centre is supported by two other private specialist clinics and three student clinics. The Dental Centre works closely with FoD on general and specialised dental services to bring you quality dental care.

In addition to basic dental procedures which are provided by our general dental practitioners, patients can be inter-referred to our dental specialists when a more complex or tertiary-level of care is needed, and this gives them the benefit of a multi-disciplinary consultation in one setting.

"Standard Precautions"

"Standard Precautions" have been enforced throughout the Dental Centre since the late '80s and our instruments undergo the strictest sterilisation procedures before they are used. Our instruments and handpieces are steam-autoclaved between every patient. Disposable masks, gloves and other disposable items are used whenever possible to prevent any transmission of diseases. An advanced Dental Sterile Supplies Unit (DSSU) in the centre makes this possible.

Dental Emergencies

Patients can also walk-in to our Dental Centre should it be an emergency. A Dental Officer who is on stand-by will be able to attend to the case. Dental emergencies include having symptoms such as oral swelling, bleeding and acute pain, for 24 hours. However, there is only a limited scope of services provided for emergencies and elective treatments will not be performed.

Enquiries and booking of appointments

For enquiries and/or booking of appointments, our Patient Service Associates (PSA) are available during the practice hours* to help you with it. Enquiries can also be done via phone, fax or by visiting the centre directly.
