He went on to complete a clinical fellowship in hand, wrist and elbow surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York. In order to further his interests in hand and reconstructive microsurgery, Dr Das De completed a second residency in Hand Surgery at NUH in 2016. He obtained the College of Surgeons Gold Medals for both the Orthopaedic Surgery and Hand Surgery national qualifying examinations. He has a keen interest in clinical research and obtained a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University in 2011, focusing on quantitative research methods. His current research complements his clinical interests in paediatric upper limb injuries, congenital abnormalities, limb spasticity, and reconstructive microsurgery of the upper and lower limbs. He is presently the Program Director of the national Hand Surgery integrated residency program and takes an active interest in postgraduate training. Dr Das De is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Hand Surgery (USA). He takes consultations at both the National University Hospital and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.
