Clin A/Prof Amrith had two short fellowships in Sydney Eye Hospital, Australia and University of Cincinnati Hospitals, USA in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She has been an Oculoplastic (Eye Plastic) specialist since 1989, with over 25 years of experience in managing a wide variety of patients with various lid, lacrimal and orbital pathologies and injuries. She is also experienced in cosmetic surgeries for sagging eyebrows and baggy upper and lower eyelids as well as reconstructing orbital fractures following facial trauma.

She has also given training to many fellows in oculoplastic surgery from various countries such as Syria, Malaysia, Thailand, India and Philippines. She has gone on teaching missions to Myanmar.

Clin A/Prof Amrith was awarded the “Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award" in 2011. She was also a founding member of the Asia-Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and has been invited as a speaker in several international meetings.
