Biosketch

Dr Santhosh Kumar Seetharaman is a Consultant with the Division of Geriatric Medicine, NUH. He also serves as the Head of the Healthy Ageing Programme at Alexandra Hospital, focused on the health and social needs of the elderly.

Dr Santhosh did his undergraduate training in India and went to the UK to pursue his higher training. He completed his MRCP while working in the North West England. He subsequently did his specialty training in Geriatrics and General Internal Medicine in London. Dr Santhosh took a year to pursue his interest in Stroke medicine at St. Thomas' Hospital, London. On completing his training, he worked as a Consultant in Elderly Care, with special interest in Stroke, at The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Reading, with close links to the John Radcliffe Hospital, part of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.

He has an active interest in medical education and has been one of the faculty in courses like IMPACT (Ill Medical Patients' Acute Care and Treatment), designed by the Federation of Royal Medical Colleges and the Royal College of Anaesthetists. Dr Santhosh also has experience in teaching preparatory courses organised for medical students taking their undergraduate final-year exam OSCEs (Objective Structured Clinical Examinations). He has been through Medical Education courses to enrich his role as an educator.
