Biosketch

Dr. Rishi Malhotra graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2009 and worked in the NHS system in UK for 3 years. After completing his MRCS surgical degree, he migrated to Singapore in 2012 to pursue a career in Orthopaedics. He completed his residency training from 2015 to 2021 in the National University Health System. After completing his FRCS degree, in 2022 he joined National University Hospital full time as an Associate Consultant in the Paediatric Orthopaedic division. He enjoys working with children and mainly treats children's fractures, sport related injuries and is developing his skills in deformity correction.

Dr. Rishi has been involved in over 20 research publications during his surgical training and is currently involved in a clinical study to assess the potential benefits of stem cells in fracture healing, for which he was won several grants. He has written book chapters for diabetic foot surgery and orthopaedic anatomy.

Dr. Rishi is actively involved in medical education and is an enthusiastic teacher when he imparts his knowledge to medical students and junior doctors. He believes that teaching effectively is an art and hopes to inspire the next generation of surgeons. As such he has been appointed the Assistant Program Director of the orthopaedic residency program and the Co-director of orthopaedic post-graduate education. 

Outside of work Dr. Rishi likes to spend time with his wife and 2 young daughters and visit many parks around Singapore. His other passions include playing guitar and tennis.
