​Dr Nicholas Ng did his undergraduate medical training at Imperial College London, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree with 1st class honours in 2011 and subsequently graduated with MBBS in 2013. He was awarded the University of London MBBS Gold Medal (proxime accesit) and also the recipient of eight university awards for academic excellence during his time at Imperial College London.

Dr Ng underwent his paediatric residency at the Department of Paediatrics in National University Hospital, where he received his Master of Medicine (Paediatrics) and Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) in 2016. He subsequently underwent senior residency and achieved Specialist Accreditation for Paediatric Medicine in 2020.

During his residency, Dr Ng served as Chief Resident from 2016 to 2017 and was in the Chief Registrar team in 2018. He also had the privilege of representing his institution in the Singapore Chief Residency Programme (SCRP) conducted by the Healthcare Leadership College in 2018.

Dr Ng's clinical and research interests are in paediatric endocrinology, particularly in the areas of childhood obesity, metabolic syndrome and pubertal disorders. He is also passionate about medical education research. He has won several grants for his research work and has presented his work in various local and international conferences. He won the Best Oral Presentation Award in the Singapore Paediatric and Perinatal Annual Conference (SIPPAC) in 2018, and was the runner up for the Asia Pacific Medical Education Conference (APMEC) Young Scholar Award in 2020. He also received the Excellence Award for the NUH Research Residency Programme Research Showcase in 2019. 

Dr Ng is a passionate educator who is involved in undergraduate, postgraduate medical and interprofessional education. He has won numerous teaching awards in recognition of his commitment to teaching. He is currently serving as a Core Faculty member of the NUH National Postgraduate Year 1 Programme.
