Biosketch

Dr Low Jia Ming is currently an Associate Consultant with the Department of Neonatology, National University Hospital (NUH).

Dr Low studied medicine at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS), and was awarded the Outstanding Undergraduate Research Prize (Best Undergraduate Researcher), National University of Singapore in 2011. She completed her postgraduate specialty training in Paediatrics at the Department of Paediatrics, NUH. She then went on to achieve subspecialty accreditation in Neonatology at the Department of Neonatology, NUH.

Dr Low serves as the research director in the Department of Neonatology, NUH. Her clinical and research passions are in Neonatology, particularly in the areas of resuscitation of extremely preterm neonates, neonatal infectious diseases and immunology. She has won several grants and scholarships for her research work, including the MOH Healthcare Research Scholarship and NUHS Clinician Scientist Program 2.0.

Dr Low is a medical educator who is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. She is a teaching faculty for the Graduate Diploma Child & Adolescent Course (Neonatal). She is also a facilitator for Neonatal Resuscitation Courses conducted at NUS. She has won numerous departmental and institutional awards for her commitment to teaching, including NUS Medicine Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award (2018) and the Great & Good Teacher Award since 2018.
