Prof K Satku specialises in disorders of the knee, as well as general orthopaedics. His special areas of interest are the care, rehabilitation and surgical treatment of injuries and degenerative disorders of knee joint.

Prof K Satku completed his medical degree at the University of Singapore in 1974. He underwent his training in Orthopaedic Surgery at Singapore General Hospital from 1974 to 1978. He joined the National University of Singapore and National University Hospital in 1978 as a Lecturer. He was appointed a full Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1999.

Prof K Satku is actively involved in medical student teaching at NUS. He is a member of the Singapore Medical Association, the Singapore Orthopaedic Association, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Prof K Satku is the author of numerous scientific research articles and book chapters.

- Innervation of bones and joints
- Biomechanics of the wrist joint
- Epidemiology of osteoarthritis of the knee
- Osteonecrosis around the knee and other joints
- Gait in osteoarthritic knees
- Results of total knee replacement
