Biosketch

Prof Graham E Holder, PhD, became a Hong-Leong Professor at the National University of Singapore in 2017. Previously, he was Moorfields Eye Hospital's (London) Director of Electrophysiology for 22 years from 1995 – 2017. Prof Holder also holds Honorary Professorships of University College London Institute of Ophthalmology and University of Sydney Medical School. He is also an Honorary Fellow of the Academy for Healthcare Science and an ARVO Fellow.

Prof Holder was a joint recipient of a prestigious Alcon award in 2010 and has received both a Life Achievement Award in 2018 from American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and APAO Achievement Awards. He was named Visionary of the Quarter by the European Vision Research Gateway in 2019. In addition, he is a past President of the European Association for Vision and Eye Research, a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the European Society of Ophthalmology, and was ISCEV Director of Education from 2001-2014.

Prof Holder has more than 270 peer-reviewed publications (>22000 citations) and authored over 40 book chapters. A co-edited "Atlas of Chorioretinal Dystrophies" and the revised "AAO Basic and Clinical Science Course: Retina and Vitreous" was recently published.
