Dr Dedrick Chan is an Associate Consultant with the Division of Colorectal Surgery, National University Hospital, and Senior Lecturer with the Department of Surgery, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Dr Chan completed his General Surgery residency training at the National University Health System and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Academy of Medicine Singapore in 2018. During his residency training, he was selected for the Residency Leadership Development Programme as well as the Singapore Chief Residency Programme, respective institutional and national programmes aimed at moulding future healthcare leaders.
With a focus on advancing the care of his patients with colorectal cancer, Dr Chan actively engages in both clinical as well as translational research. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, and has won prizes for his research in national and regional scientific conferences. He completed the Master of Clinical Investigation in 2015 under a Ministry of Health Healthcare Research Scholarship, and was awarded an ExxonMobil-NUS Research Fellowship in 2018. He was also selected to be part of the Junior Academic Faculty Scheme aimed at nurturing clinician-scientists.
