Biosketch

​Dr Chong undertook his undergraduate medical training at the University of Cambridge, UK, during which he had also obtained an intercalated degree related to neuroscience; he received several awards for academic excellence whilst at university. He then completed postgraduate training in internal medicine, followed by neurology, at NUH.

Dr Chong takes a special interest in patients who have dementia as well as other causes of cognitive symptoms. He is part of the clinical team which started the University Brain Health Unit (UBHU) in 2020, which provides multidisciplinary care for patients with cognitive symptoms. UBHU is particularly keen to accept referrals for complex patients who will benefit most from evaluation and management by different specialties.

Dr Chong is active in research and medical education. He is currently pursuing a PhD on the application of machine learning to dementia at the National University of Singapore. He also enjoys teaching residents and medical students, and has received several awards in recognition of his teaching.
