NATIONAL UNIVERISTY CENTRE FOR ORAL HEALTH, SINGAPORE
With an ageing population and rising chronic disease burden, the Singapore population is facing unprecedented healthcare challenges. To meet the increasingly complex demands of an evolving oral healthcare environment, a new national specialty dental centre, the National University Centre for Oral Health, Singapore (NUCOHS) was created under the National University Health System (NUHS).
Encompassing the NUS Faculty of Dentistry and the National University Hospital's (NUH) University Dental Cluster, NUCOHS will champion its tripartite mission of clinical service, education and research with the aim of driving new specialty treatments and breakthroughs to contribute towards the overall well-being of the Singapore population.
Nurturing the Next Generation of Oral Health Experts
NUCOHS aims to increase the Faculty of Dentistry's capacity to train undergraduates, postgraduate residents and research students, as well as Oral Health Therapists and other dental auxiliaries to meet Singapore's increasing oral health needs.
Serving the Dental Needs of a Nation
NUCOHS will contribute to affordable, public patient care, enhance preventive care dentistry and advance specialist oral health care support for a growing, and aging, Singapore population.
Advancing Research for Better Oral Healthcare
NUCOHS will spearhead translational research in oral health in areas such as oral-systemic links, regenerative biology and tissue engineering, and public health research.
