WOMEN with heart problems can soon seek treatment at a clinic which specialises in treating women's heart disease.
The Women's Heart Health Clinic, which is an initiative by the National University Heart Centre, Singapore (NUHCS), is the first of its kind here.
On top of being examined and treated for heart disease, women can also seek help from cardiologists, dieticians, psychologists as well as occupational therapist for advice on how to manage or prevent heart problems at the clinic.
Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer among women in Singapore.
Besides serving as the 'one-stop' centre for women to get help and information on heart disease, the Women's Heart Health Clinic also aims to provide a potential database for research into cardiovascular disease in women, particularly Asian women.
The Women's Heart Health Clinic will be officially launched on April 21, at the opening of NUHCS' new premise, located at the National University Hospital.
