Research

The Khoo Teck Puat- National University Children's Medical Institute (KTP-NUCMI) is committed to paediatric research in the fields of genetics, nephrology, endocrinology, asthma and allergy, and neonatology. With the numerous subspecialties in paediatrics, there continues to be a significant scope for research at the KTP-NUCMI. Clinical drug and vaccine trials are part of the strength of the department - please contact us.

Research programmes are undertaken only if ethical approval has been granted. In addition, no patient is enlisted into a research programme without their consent. Patients' treatment will not be affected if they prefer not to participate in research programmes.

There is rich research history at KTP-NUCMI, a legacy left behind by Professor Wong Hock Boon. Doctors and scientist with KTP-NUCMI too contribute to research, with notable achievements in the areas of genetics, nephrology, endocrinology, asthma and allergy, and neonatology.

Moving forward, there are plans for more translational and community-based research, with an emphasis on health services and disease prevention in order to provide holistic healthcare to Singaporeans.
