The Stress Clinic was started by the Department of Psychological Medicine to help patients cope with stress through preventive and rehabilitative measures - the first such programme introduced in Singapore hospitals.

Introduction of Coma Arousal Programme for coma patients suffering from head injuries was the first such defined programme available at local hospitals. The first Head Injured Support Group was introduced the following year.
