TAFEP (Tripartite Alliance for Fair Employment Practices) awarded NUH for our efforts to lead in fair, responsible and inclusive employment practices. In our efforts to attract talents, we actively participate in job fairs and have successfully offered employment to professionals making mid-career switches as well as those, especially women, returning to the workforce. Encouraging flexible work arrangements in the predominantly female staffed hospital, we are the first local hospital to embark on a non-conventional online flexi-work rostering system that caters to the nurses’ work patterns while taking into consideration their family commitments.

The May Day Model Partnership Awards is conferred by the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) to recognise good partnership amongst workers, unions, employers, industry partners and government in creating better jobs through improved productivity, skills upgrading and building of an adaptable workforce.

This award serves to recognise NUH for receiving the Leading HR Practices in Employee Relations & People Management Award for 3 years with reference to a period of 5 consecutive years. The term "Advocate” is used to accord organisations which have shown drive, support and excellence in improving a particular aspect of HR, thus setting new benchmarks and standards for others to emulate.

This Award emphasises areas of good programmes and systems that improve intra-and-inter relationships between and among the employees, employer and union. This Award also looks into programmes that the organisation has in place to ensure that supervisors and managers are managing their departments effectively and establishing good working relationships and team work.

  • National Medical Excellence Awards (NMEA)

The NMEA is the only award given out by the Ministry of Health (MOH) that recognises contributions from health professionals for innovations in healthcare, patient safety, clinical quality, biomedical research as well as training and education of clinicians.
