What is In-toeing Gait?

It is the pointing in of the feet when walking in an otherwise normal child.
What causes In-toeing Gait?

Under the age of 2, due to inward curvature of the feet (Metatarsus Adductus)
In the toddler age, due to inward twisting of the leg (Tibia Intorsion)
In the school going age, due to malrotation of the thigh bone (Femoral Anteversion)
What are the symptoms?

For more severe cases, the child may trip easily especially when running.
Treatment options

Often corrects spontanesously with time.
Sitting posture may have to be modified.
In the older adolescent child with severe in-toeing, a cut in the thigh bone for de-rotation may be necessary.
