A facelift is a surgical procedure to restore a smoother and better defined contour to your face and neck. It removes and redrapes excess skin, anchoring the fascial ligaments to a higher and more youthful position.
You will require general anaesthesia for this procedure. Usually, your plastic surgeon would recommend a one day stay in hospital. You will be given a support garment for the face after the procedure.
Potential complications associated with face lift surgery include haematoma (blood clot collecting under skin), skin necrosis, infection, scarring, and injury to nerves of the face. However, these complications are uncommon.
