Diet plays an important role in health and diseases. In the past decade, accumulating evidence supports that diet and nutrition are also important for brain health in aging. In this talk, the speaker will share findings from major population-based studies in Singapore and other Asian countries. Topics covered includes homocysteine, B-vitamins, PUFA, vegetables, fruits, fish, tea and mushroom, as well as phytochemicals.
The speaker also will share knowledge gained from Western populations, such as the Mediterranean dietary pattern and the MIND diet. He will then summarise his opinions on how to promote brain and cognitive health in aging through the change of dietary intake.
