Division of Endocrinology

The Division of Endocrinology encompasses the full spectrum of Endocrinology, including Diabetes, Thyroid, Pituitary, Adrenal, Bone, Gonadal, and Metabolic Disorders. We provide both Inpatient and Outpatient services and act as a tertiary referral centre for Singapore and neighbouring countries.

Investigators in the division of endocrinology lead a large epidemiology program that is designed to understand the causes and consequences of metabolic diseases such as obesity, diabetes mellitus and dyslipidemia.

The former include the role of genetic and environmental factors while the latter include the impact of metabolic disorders on health related quality of life, inflammation, cardiovascular disease, renal disease and eye disease.

In addition, investigators perform detailed assessments of insulin resistance, metabolic imaging and high throughput analytical chemistry to elucidate the pathways leading to the development of metabolic diseases.
