Psychosis Clinic
The Psychosis Clinic cares for people with conditions such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder and delusional disorder.
In particular, schizophrenia affects about 1 in 100 people in Singapore. The symptoms can vary from person to person. Some people exhibit a change in behaviour, some become suspicious, or their speech becomes incoherent. They may even have unusual ideas about the world and people around them. Sleep can be affected and they can become socially withdrawn.
The Psychosis Clinic is run by a multidisciplinary team, comprising psychiatrists and psychologists who are dedicated in their assessment and plan of care for the patients. Psychosis can be effectively treated with a multimodel approach combining pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy and social interventions. Early detection and treatment is vital to improve the outcome for patients suffering from these diseases.
