The ward team runs a 23-bedder psychiatric ward. We provide comprehensive assessments and holistic treatments for patients requiring acute psychiatric care. We also have a 24-hour admission service for patients with psychiatric emergencies and crisis admissions.

Examples of the types of conditions we see include:

• Anxiety Disorders

• Adjustment Reaction

• Depression

• Bipolar Disorders

• Schizophrenia

• Organic Psychiatric Disorder
• Mania

A wide range of treatments is available within our premises, including pharmacotherapy, psychological therapy and electroconvulsive therapy. Treatments are holistically tailored for every patient.

We co-manage patients with both medical and psychiatric conditions with our medical and surgical colleagues. The ward team works closely with occupational therapists, medical social workers, case managers, psychologists, Consultation Liaison and the outpatient service to provide a holistic experience for our patients. In addition, the ward team assists in liaising with external counsellors in the community for the patients and their family members.
